Comment Highlights

  • "The ride is very comfortable. The seats are comfortable and ergonomic. Although the vehicle is about the length of an average sedan, the shorter engine bay gives more room inside for three rows of seats, and ample boot space if the last row is folded down. There is no boot space if the last row seats are up. The second row seats can be moved forwards/backwards, can recline, and can fold down flat. Fold down both 2nd and 3rd row seats to get more cargo area. Power/performance on the 2.0 litre version is impressive. Climbing uphill was effortless. Fuel economy is between 10-11 km/l (depending on driving behaviour and conditions). It is a basic vehicle with no fancy gadgets, buttons or gimmicks (which is a good thing; uncomplicated and less stuff to break). To save space and weight, the vehicle does not come with a spare tyre. Instead, Honda supplies a tyre repair kit. The Crossroad shares the same engine and mechanical components with the Honda Accord and Honda CR-V. It is an uncomplicated machine and is not difficult, nor expensive, to maintain. However, the fact that this vehicle is uncommon in New Zealand, non-mechanical parts such as panels, interior fittings etc may be a wee bit difficult to get. Original parts can still be ordered from Japan; just expect to pay a little bit more than expected."
